Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam (/ˈeɪkɒn/; born April 16, 1973), also known mononymously as Akon, is a Senegalese-American singer, rapper, songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and actor from New Jersey.
